The lighting in your home office can be fun, and if you so choose, it can even make a statement. However, we recommend avoiding going too crazy. Too much light can cause your eyes to strain and your head to hurt, making your home office much more unpleasant than it needs to be.
So, rather than going grand with a bright, massive chandelier, why not opt for some stylish, smaller task lights instead?
Add a Task Light
Speaking of task lights, these are a must when lighting your home office. They help to ensure that there is ample, yet not too much, light coming into your office.
We recommend choosing a simple fixture or two that doesn’t take up too much space on your desk. If possible, it’s always a good idea to search for options that are adjustable, so you can change the height if necessary.
Another important factor to consider with task lighting is its placement. If put in the wrong spot, task lighting can create a distracting glare, and that defeats the whole purpose! When placing your lamp or light, test out a couple spots, and find one that works best for you.
